Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter
Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter is available from BK Shop. The information below provides useful details about Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter to help you decide whether it is right for you.
Please review all of the information provided for Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter before placing your order.
Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter
Add more precise motion tracking to your standard Wii Remote with the Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter. Released in 2009, this Nintendo accessory attaches to the bottom of a compatible Wii Remote and provides additional movement information for games designed to use Wii MotionPlus.
It is a practical accessory for players who already own a standard Wii Remote and want to play titles that require MotionPlus functionality, including Wii Sports Resort.
This listing is for the MotionPlus adapter only. The Wii Remote, silicone jacket, Nunchuck, console and games are not included unless specifically stated.
More Precise Motion Tracking
The Wii MotionPlus Adapter enhances the standard Wii Remote’s ability to track movement and orientation. In supported games, it helps the console interpret how the controller is tilted, rotated or swung.
This allows compatible software to respond more closely to your movements. Actions such as controlling a sword or swinging sports equipment can use the additional tracking information to provide more detailed motion controls.
The benefit depends on the game. Attaching MotionPlus does not improve graphics or change the controls of software that was not designed to use it.
Attaches to the Bottom of Your Wii Remote
The adapter connects to the accessory port at the base of a standard Wii Remote. Once correctly attached, the remote and adapter operate together as one controller setup.
Follow Nintendo’s fitting instructions and secure the adapter using its locking mechanism. Check that it is properly seated before starting a game.
The accessory extends the length of the Wii Remote. Keep this in mind when choosing a protective jacket or another accessory that fits around the controller.
Official Nintendo Accessory
This is an official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter, suitable for buyers looking for Nintendo-produced equipment to expand the functionality of an existing Wii Remote.
It can replace a missing or damaged adapter, or provide MotionPlus support for another standard remote in your collection.
Check the product photographs and selected option for the exact colour, condition and components supplied. This is an add-on accessory, not a complete controller.
Suitable for MotionPlus-Compatible Games
Some Wii games require MotionPlus, while others offer support for it. Wii Sports Resort is a familiar example of a title designed around MotionPlus controls.
Check each game’s packaging or instructions to confirm whether MotionPlus is required and whether additional accessories are needed.
A MotionPlus adapter alone does not provide every controller component a game may require. Certain activities may also need a compatible Nunchuck connected to the controller setup.
Connecting a Nunchuck
The Wii MotionPlus Adapter includes an accessory connection that allows supported accessories, such as a Nunchuck, to be used while the adapter is attached.
Follow the relevant connection instructions and make sure plugs are securely fitted without forcing them. Keep the Nunchuck cable free from obstructions and avoid pulling it tight during gameplay.
Whether a Nunchuck is needed depends on the game or activity. It is not included in this listing unless explicitly stated.
MotionPlus Adapter or Wii Remote Plus?
This accessory should not be confused with the Wii Remote Plus, which is a complete controller with MotionPlus technology built in.
A standard Wii Remote needs this separate adapter for games that require MotionPlus. A Wii Remote Plus already provides that functionality and does not need another MotionPlus adapter.
Check your controller before ordering. A Wii Remote Plus is normally identified by the “Wii MotionPlus INSIDE” marking on its front.
Calibration and Setup
Games using MotionPlus may ask you to place the controller on a flat surface or complete a calibration step. Follow the on-screen instructions before playing.
If the motion controls become misaligned, use the game’s recalibration instructions. Keep the adapter securely attached and check that the Wii Remote has sufficient battery power.
MotionPlus provides additional tracking information, but correct setup and the game’s calibration process still matter.
Careful Gameplay
Use a correctly fitted Wii Remote wrist strap and maintain a firm grip during movement-based games. Leave adequate space around you to avoid striking other players, furniture or nearby objects.
A suitable MotionPlus-compatible silicone jacket can provide an additional gripping surface and cushioning. A standard Wii Remote jacket may not accommodate the extended controller setup.
Store the adapter where its connector and locking mechanism will not be damaged. Inspect it before use and avoid using it if the casing or connection is significantly damaged.
What Is Included?
This listing is for the Official Nintendo Wii MotionPlus Adapter only.
The Wii Remote, silicone jacket, wrist strap, Nunchuck, console, sensor bar, batteries and games are not included unless specifically listed.
Please review the photographs, condition notes and included-item details before purchasing.
What Is Nintendo Wii?
Nintendo Wii is a home video game console developed by Nintendo and originally released in 2006. It introduced motion-controlled gaming to a wide audience, allowing players to interact with games through physical movements using the Wii Remote.
Nintendo Wii offers a wide variety of games, including sports, racing, adventures, party games and family entertainment. BK Shop offers Nintendo Wii consoles, games, controllers and accessories to help customers enjoy this classic gaming system.
Nintendo Wii Console Models
Nintendo Wii was released in several models, including the original Wii, the later Wii Family Edition and the Wii Mini.
Original Wii consoles with GameCube controller ports can support compatible Nintendo GameCube games and accessories. The Wii Family Edition and Wii Mini do not support GameCube games.
Wii Mini has additional limitations, including no internet connectivity and no support for GameCube games or accessories.
Please check the individual product description to confirm the exact console model, colour, condition, compatibility and included equipment.
Nintendo Wii Games
Nintendo Wii offers a wide range of games, including Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Games may require specific controllers, accessories or additional equipment. Some titles require a Nunchuk, Wii MotionPlus, Wii Balance Board or other compatible accessories.
Nintendo Wii game discs cannot be played on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. Wii U can play compatible Wii game discs and supports many original Wii accessories.
Please check the individual product listing to confirm the game format, region, condition and included contents before purchasing.
Controllers And Accessories
Nintendo Wii accessories include Wii Remotes, Nunchuk controllers, Wii MotionPlus accessories, sensor bars, power supplies, AV cables, component cables and Wii Balance Boards.
A compatible Wii Remote, sensor bar, power supply and suitable television connection are normally required to use a Nintendo Wii console.
Additional controllers or accessories may be required for certain games. Wii Remotes use AA batteries, which may not be included.
Some games require Wii MotionPlus functionality. This may be built into a compatible Wii Remote Plus or provided through a separate Wii MotionPlus accessory.
Please check the individual product description to confirm exactly which accessories are supplied.
Product Condition
Nintendo Wii consoles, games and accessories may be pre-owned and show normal signs of previous use, including cosmetic marks, scratches, fading or general wear.
Game discs may show light surface marks, while controllers and consoles may have cosmetic wear consistent with their age and previous use.
Original packaging, instruction manuals, cables, controllers and other accessories are only included when specifically stated in the individual product description.
Please review the product listing and photographs carefully to confirm the condition and included equipment before purchasing.
Television Connections And Compatibility
Nintendo Wii consoles were originally designed to connect to televisions using analogue AV or component video connections. They do not have a built-in HDMI output.
Customers using modern televisions may require a compatible Wii-to-HDMI converter or other suitable connection equipment.
HDMI converters do not automatically improve the console's original game resolution. Picture quality may vary depending on the converter, television and connection used.
Some Nintendo Wii games and accessories are compatible with Nintendo Wii U, although compatibility varies. Wii U games cannot be played on an original Nintendo Wii console.
Please check your television connections, console model and accessory compatibility before purchasing.
Age Suitability And Safety
Nintendo Wii games carry age ratings to help customers identify suitable content. Parents and guardians should check the applicable PEGI rating before allowing children to play.
Wii Remotes should be used with suitable wrist straps, and players should ensure that sufficient space is available when using motion controls. Protective silicone covers may provide additional protection.
Customers should inspect pre-owned controllers, battery compartments, cables and electrical accessories before use.
Only use suitable power supplies and compatible equipment. Follow all manufacturer instructions and safety recommendations.
Online Services And Pre-Owned Consoles
Nintendo's original Wii Shop Channel and official Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection gaming services have been discontinued. Customers should not assume that online multiplayer, new digital purchases or other original internet services remain available.
Previously purchased Wii Shop content may still be available for redownload on eligible consoles, but this service is limited and may be discontinued. New purchases are no longer available.
Pre-owned consoles may have been restored to factory settings, meaning previously installed games, saved data and other content may no longer be available.
Some consoles may have modified software or additional features. These are only included when specifically stated in the individual product listing.
Important Information
Nintendo Wii consoles, games, controllers and accessories are sold individually or as part of a package, depending on the individual product listing.
Customers should not assume that additional games, Wii Remotes, Nunchuk controllers, sensor bars, power supplies, television cables or other accessories are included unless specifically stated.
Product-specific information always takes priority over this general guide. Please read the complete product description before purchasing.
